Bath melts are great when you're needing a little TLC. Pop one of these skin nourishing little darlings in your bath when you feel your skin is in need of some extra moisturizing relief.
There are so many creative ways you can make bath melts and they're super easy to make.
You can add in whatever essential oil you think might smell nice from relaxing to energizing. Adding in herbs like lavender buds or rose petals make your melts look pretty and will provide your skin with extra nourishing benefits.
With this batch, I add Calendula leaf and Lavender buds. Calendula/Marigold flower has the most amazing healing properties that are safe for everyone to use including babies and pets. It provides pain relief and aids in the treatment and healing of many skin ailments.
Here's what you need. You can tweak whatever ingredients and make them basic or fancy. I can't say that mine is either, they're kinda between basic and fancy. Anyways, you can also get really creative and make some really cute ones for gifts too if you wanted.
For the base: Depending on how big of a batch you want, you can add less or more.
- 4 TB Cocoa Butter
- 4 TB Shea Butter
- 1/2 T Beeswax
- 1 TB Jojoba oil
Stick them in the freezer for 20 mins and they're done!
Silicone moulds work the best and you can find different shapes and sizes. The beeswax helps to keep them from melting so easy and they still melt just fine in the tub. It's still a good idea to keep them in the fridge. One of these little melts is more than enough for a tub of water. You might find that you'll feel really greasy, but as soon as you're out and the oils have absorbed, your skin will feel so silky soft.
